Let's have fun even during the rainy season!

"Roadside Station Uzushio" was featured in the June 21, 2026 (Sun) edition of the Kobe Shimbun!
Roadside Station Uzushio (in Fukura Hei, the same city) had just reopened after renovations last fall. Noting that “visitor numbers tend to drop during the rainy season,” the entire staff brainstormed ideas and decided to launch a campaign under the slogan “Awaji Island: Unbowed by the Rainy Season.”
Our top recommendation is the limited-edition dessert, “Awaji Island Hydrangea Milk Soft-Serve.” Made with milk produced on the island, this soft-serve is piped to resemble flower petals and finished in a hydrangea-inspired design—a truly exquisite, Instagram-worthy treat.
The menu also features a variety of creative dishes, such as skewered tempura made with seasonal Awaji Island pike conger, fried and topped with spicy powder, and chicken nuggets with a refreshing blend of plum and shiso.
The facility is also decorated to reflect the season. Hydrangeas line the entrance, and “teru teru bozu” rain charms featuring the official mascot, “Uzubo,” are hung from the ceiling. Stylishly designed umbrellas are set up at the photo spot. Mr. Hata says, “I want visitors to feel excitement rather than just the damp, muggy weather.” The event runs through the 30th.
