Spring Colors Wrapped Up

Roadside Station Uzushio Wisteria Shelf" was introduced in the Yomiuri Shimbun on Friday, April 24, 2026!
Wisteria flowers are at their best at "Roadside Station Uzushio" (Fukura Hei, Minami-Awaji City), located at the southern tip of Awaji Island, and can be enjoyed until around the 26th.
The 70-meter long "wisteria trellis" (promenade) leading to the entrance of the roadside station is filled with 21 wisteria flowers in shades of purple.
The wisteria trellis was set up around 1972. It has been loved by local residents as a place to relax and has colored the spring of Awaji. It was closed during renovation work, and was unveiled for the first time in three years.
Yuji Miyaji, president of Uzunokuni Minami-Awaji, which operates the roadside station, said, "You can only see them for about a week, but I hope you enjoy their good smell.
A photo contest is also being held to win a "cherry salmon from Awaji Island" for the grand prize winner (one person) who takes a photo of the wisteria trellis and posts it on Instagram. The contest ends at 5 p.m. on May 3.
