Burger flavor, crispy

Onion Chips, a crispy fried snack made from onions, a specialty of Awaji Island, is now available in the popular "Awajishima Onion Beef Burger" flavor (450 yen including tax) at Michi no Eki Uzushio (Minami Awaji). They are ideal as souvenirs, and their popularity is gradually increasing.

Onion Chips were created in 2010 with a light salt flavor. Onions have a high water content and lose their shape when fried in oil, but a special method is used to fry them, resulting in a crispy texture and the sweetness of the ingredients.

The Onion Beef Burger won first place in the 2013 event to determine the best local burger in Japan, and has sold 1.2 million of its signature product to date. The idea was to expand the taste of the famous burger through onion chips.

To replicate the taste and aroma of an onion beef burger, the chips are sprinkled with a spice mixture of powders, including sour tomato and sweet and spicy cooked Awaji beef flavors.
The package is black with a luxurious look. A picture of an onion beef burger is printed on the package. and "Not overcooked, but good taste.
When the burgers are displayed in stores, many tourists are surprised to see the unfamiliar burger flavor and pick one up. The person in charge says, "I hope people will buy the burger they had at the roadside station as a memorable taste of Awaji Island and take it home with them.
