It is sold at two facilities in Minami-Awaji City: "Roadside Station Uzushio" and "Uzu no Oka Onaruto Bridge Memorial Museum. The response has been positive, and those in charge hope that the synergy between the chips and the burger will increase the number of tourists.

Onion Chips" come in three flavors, including "light salt flavor." In 2010, Uzunokuni Minami-Awaji, the management company of the two facilities, began selling them as a souvenir. A special process is used to make the onion chips crispy and light, even with the high water content of onions. It is a popular product, but due to a sharp rise in the price of onions, the product disappeared from stores two years ago. Tourists said, "I came here to buy onion chips," indicating the popularity of the product.
Later this summer, the "light salt flavor" became stably available. In conjunction with this, the company planned to further promote the appeal of Awaji Island. In this context, the company focused on its signature product, the "Awajishima Onion Beef Burger". Since its debut in 1948, the Awajishima Burger has won first place in a nationwide "local burger" popularity ranking contest in 25 years. While the taste has been improved, a total of more than 1.2 million units have been sold. According to the company, in creating the flavor for the chips, they were particular about reproducing not only the taste of Awaji beef, but also the sourness of the special sauce, which is a characteristic of the burger.
