Fuji-scented on the promenade

Roadside Station Uzushio Wisteria Shelf" was introduced in the Kobe Shimbun on Monday, April 20, 2026!
At the tourist facility "Michi-no-Eki Uzushio" (Fukura Hei, Minami-Awaji City), which was reopened last fall, the azalea blossoms are now at their best.
Twenty-one Japanese maples line the 70-meter promenade, with clusters of dark and light purple flowers on drooping spikes.
Originally, there was a wisteria trellis that was built more than 50 years ago and was popular among the locals, but it was closed during renovation work, and this was the first time it had been unveiled in three years.
Hidekazu Yasui, manager of Uzunokuni Minami-Awaji, the company's operator, said, "We have been pruning, grafting, and taking care of the wisteria so that visitors can see it this year. Walking under the wisteria trellises, you can smell the delicious aroma, so I hope visitors will enjoy the scenery as well.
The best time to see the flowers is until the middle of next week. The official website of Michi-no-Eki Uzushio is sending out information on the blooming status and calling for entries to the photo contest. The facility ☎ 0799-52-1157
